Well folks, I have been praying and studying and praying some more about this whole Catholic thing and I finally got the nerve up to call the Priest here in my local Catholic Church. I have a meeting with him in the morning to talk about my journey.

Please pray that God will give me a sign as to what is right and what my next step should be.

Thanks for the prayers everyone! I had a really good talk with the Priest. Before we knew it we had talked for two hours and could have probably kept on. He was very nice and I could tell he was passionate about his walk with the Lord.

I am very active in my Baptist church and told him that right up front and that I was feeling drawn to the Catholic church and was just seeking the truth. He was very encouraging and helpful. He answered all my questions and was very honest about everything. I was really impressed that he had nothing negative to say about Baptists or other denominations. I told him that that is not the case with Baptists talking about Catholics. He just told me what Catholics believed and prayed with me.

I will probably be going through the RCIA or RICA (cant remember what that stands for) class when it starts. If I decide to take the plunge it will be very hard because our whole life is around our Baptist church. If it was just me it wouldn't be so tough but I have a wife and kids that probably wont take it well initially.

Wonderful news, milby! Just pray concerning your wife and children. The Lord will find a way.

Maybe your wife would be interested in sitting in with you to see what you're learning.
If not, perhaps you can have good discussions on the amazing things you learn and discover in RCIA.

Yep she said she would attend the classes with me. She is very frustrated with the way our church is going but can't wrap her mind around some of the things Catholics believe.

Oh - good that she plans to go with you - you will have a lot of interesting things to discuss and ponder!

what a blessing that is... when i went through, i think we saw the pastor for one class (out of a year long process) for reconciliation and the parochial vicar so he could share his story in the Holy Orders class
