Does anyone here have a copy of Youcat (English)? What do you think of it?
Please tell me if it's worth purchasing.
I have a regular Catechism but I am interested in something simplified, with the Q&A format.
Thanks.

I glanced over it. But not enough to say much.

There is the Compendium of the Catechism that is fairly decent.

http://www.vatican.va/archive/compendiu ... cc_en.html

If you want to look at its content without buy it.

I have two copies of YouCat.

Pope Benedict XVI does recommend it to young people:

Another book Compendium of the Catechism is also worthwhile. I have it in Russian.

My priest-friend gave my brother and I a copy of the Catechism, and Youcat; I'm not sure what to think of the latter.

Youcat seems to me to have been quickly thrown together (more accurately, quickly translated). Spelling errors and uncertain grammer aren't uncommon (such as the Index spelling of exorcism: exorcismus).

What really causes concern for me, though, are some of the illustrations. The picture that accompanies question 412 on page 224 really - shall I say - raised my eyebrows.

Must be a typo due to translation from original German. German word for exorcism is Exorzismus. :) This comes from Greek ἐξορκισμός, exorkismós.
