This week, the Vatican announced that it had created a Twitter feed (https://twitter.com/Pope2UVaitcan ), to help young Catholics by using social media. I think this may be a good thing, because it helps younger people learn about God, but I am worried about the long term effects on the Catholic tradition.

are you sure it's authentic...? They spelled "Vaitcan" wrong.

No, they spelled it correctly. 'Vatican,' however, was spelled wrong. ;)
