Hi everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm SisterM and I am actually a sister in an apostolic community. It's nice to meet all of you!

Hello, Sister! Welcome! Christ is risen, alleluia!

Just out of curiosity, what community are you in? Is it an older one? I have a (purely aesthetic) interest in unique habits; if yours had/has one and you had any pictures you could put up, I would be very interested.

Thank you for all your messages of welcome and Happy Easter!

If you don't mind, until I get to know you all a little better I'd like to keep my congregation name (since it contains the name of the place where I live!) to myself... just until I get to know everyone! I'd be happy to share in a private message.

But in answer to habits, we wear a modified habit and are not an old congregation. We were founded in the 1800s in the US and wore a habit that was very typical of that time period. It was simple, no fluting or excessive starching, no cornets or bonnets. It's one distinguishing factor was that it was blue. We still wear blue now too.

Blue is a good color. My wheelchair is blue. :D (It's one of those lightweight, rigid-frame, sporty models.)

Oh, of course; I didn't want to be pushy or make you uncomfortable. No cornets? Oh, pooh, they're so frivolously nice-looking. But blue is a nice color; presumably in honor of the Blessed Virgin?

Once again, it's very nice to have you here, and I hope I wasn't too pushy.

You were not at all too pushy! I'm happy to meet you and you were very hospitable in welcoming me here!

Yes, blue for the Blessed Mother.

Welcome!!!!!

Can women get lightsabers?
I think they should......
(there's a tradition around here...... )
