Hey Ya'll! I'm Mulle, and i'm here because i met an amazing man at the grocery store today - the FIRST Catholic i've ever met who KNEW WHY he is Catholic. Scripture and verse, he turned my whole world upside down. I've been a non-denominational Christian for 25 years now after being raised Lutheran, not getting the answers i needed when i sought them, then turning my back on God for several years... I love my Lord and do not doubt my salvation through him, but after my meeting in the grocery store parking lot (where we blocked traffic for at least 1/2 hour and no one complained) i'm "pretty sure" that God had a hand in wanting us to have better intel :)! Not quite ready to jump on board yet, but my 15 year old son and i will both be seeking a lot of information in the coming days as we try to piece together a lifetime of misinformation.

Since there are no coincidences, i'm pretty sure i'll be a regular for quite a while and look forward to getting to know some of you :)

welcome mulle... you are correct...there are no coincidences, only God-instances... and God bless the man you met for sharing his faith with you...you stumbled on to a gem there

in the meantime, here is a nice little book, online or free hard copy should you want one, you might wish to take a look at while you are formulating your questions

pillar of fire, pillar of truth

:wave Hi, Mulle! Welcome to the board. How did you get started talking to the man in the parking lot?

Oh you asked how the conversation started! I'm one of those people who starts talking politics and religion in the check-out line :)! I despise the progressive movements public ban on those two topics so i make a point of starting them at every opportunity! We chatted in line about the nearness of Jesus' return based on my knowledge of the Lesson of the Fig Tree - when we parted there i told him to keep his eyes on the East. He pulled up next to me in the parking lot and asked if i believe in God - i said not only that, but that His Son Jesus lives in me as my Savior :) I NEVER back down from these statements, regardless of location. Then he began talking about Catholicism - as a "born-again Christian" i gave him the standard arguments and he hit me with scripture left and right. I've read the Bible a number of times, at least once in prayer and supplication :) -- and the Truth of his defense never before registered - until my son and i started looking at it all together last nite and this morning. Thanks to many of you, we will be attending Mass at our local Catholic Church to learn more. We have no doubts, just a LOT of questions. It's really an "easy sell" when faced with scripture in a new light.

I was taught that ALL of us became Apostles during the Feast, but now that i read it through open eyes, i see how the "structure" of the Church came to be...gaps being filled in i guess. Very strange for me because i was SO sure i was right....

Thank you Gladiator, yes, we both did. We're going to have to go over everything a number of times before it all fully clicks - more so for me than for my son i think, because He knows i'm a stubborn creature! I have it bookmarked so i can read it a few more times. Thank you so much - all of you - for your direction! Some of the places you have sent us are VERY helpful!

faithful also works... :cloud9: 8-) the reason that pic is in my sig line is because without our Lady's direct intercession i would not be Catholic now ... She did what She does best... bring her sons and daughters to Her Son and into His Church :cloud9:

Mulle, I really enjoyed that discussion as well as the phone call tonight! The Scriptures really do come to life when you read them with Catholic eyes.

I was going to ask if the man you met in the parking lot happened to be wearing a US Army uniform, but then I saw our Catholic Defender's post at the bottom of this thread.

Sarge, you are amazing!!! I am honored to know you!!

Please keep Mulle in your prayers, she was placed in the Hospital and her Son is deeply concerned about her. He is 15 years old and was at Mass by himself!!! I am so proud of him and his Mom!!
