Luke Timothy Johnson, a former Benedictine monk and priest, now married with seven children, and whom has written negatively on Catholic teaching about marriage, artificial birth control, celibacy of religious, and divorce, does, in this radio program, a surprisingly good job in my opinion, in replying to questions on the formation of the canon of scripture and on gnostic texts.

I found your links to be of interest. I have some of Erhman's work but Johnson is new to me.

Heard him speak once. Can't remember what bothered me at the time, but he seemed a little shaky on a Christological point.

Still, I bought 2 of his books.
