It's a free country but these protest never hurt a controversial film. In fact it might pique interest what will kill a film sooner or later is word of mouth and that is what killed the film the second week of its release it appears the DVC doesn't have much legs like the obious compariosn the Passion of the Christ which was number one for a month and in the top 5 for 2 months. THat won't be the case for the snoozefest that is the DVC. The film has had its day in the sun and only the dimmest bulbs would turn in his faith for bad movie. Of course some of these bulbs are some people I know but not to many people I know are fooled so thats a positive.

No, that is not true. While it is true that a little bit of controversy can help a film, too much controversy can kill it. And the Da Vinci Code is coming pretty close to the 'too much controversy' side of the spectrum.

Nah its just a bad film that's what depressed its numbers the second week.
The controversy made it what it turned out to be one of the biggest fictional books of all time and the biggest opening weeks worldwide ever.
Controversy did not hurt the Passion of the Christ did it?
Controversy alone does not kill a project there have to be other factors involved.

Controversy alone cannot kill a project? What about Michael Jackson's singing career?
