Does A Map of Life cover more or less the same territory as Theology and Sanity?

I've never read A MAP OF LIFE, either.

One of the great Catholic writers of the mid 20th Century.

When I saw F J Sheed, I thought that they simply misspelled F J Sheen. Is Frank Sheed similar to Karl Rahner. Speaking of whom, why aren't there more books available by Rahner?

Rahner is (a) impossible to read and (b) not a reliable theologian.

Sheed is (a) easy to read and (b) not a theologian but an apologist, and a very solid and reliable one.

I'm surprised that you said that about Rahner, I thought he was more respected.

Rahner was the favorite theologian of the 60s and 70s. I am far from convinced that he will be anything other than a footnote in theology texts a hundred years from now.

Thanks for the link, I will read it shortly. I recently read an article in the National Catholic Reporter about Richard McBrien, now there is a Catholic theologian who I recognize as not being completely faithful to the Magisterium of the Church. Rahner? I didn't think so, I thought he was more orthodox in his teachings.

Yes, I do.

Rahner was never (AFAIK, and I'd doubt he ever was) openly contemptuous of the teaching authority of the Church the way McBrien is. Rahner was more into pushing the envelope than into denying the existence of the envelope.

Why do you say that Rahner is impossible to read? Is it because the theological language he uses is so deep that it is hard to understand or is it for another reason?
