I agree that The Green Hornet was cooler. They really captured the 60's too. The could do Mad Men from those sets. I was just looking on Wiki and I had forgotten that they named the car "The Black Beauty". I built a miniature model of that when I was a kid. The episode I watched the other night was painful. It was about some "aliens" that go after Britt Reid to make him clear a highway so that they can optain an H-bomb, and they're not really aliens ... well it goes on. Nostalgia is a great feeling, but for me it is best in small doses.

I was happy to see the SyFy channel bring back The Green Hornet. I watched an all day marathon the other day.

Well hubbie wanted to see it so we saw it this afternoon. I have to be honest that while I remember the TV series I don't remember details.

I didn't think the movie was as bad as the reviewers said it was. It was ok for what it was which meant a lot of flash bang, car chases and things breaking and blowing up. I've seen a LOT worse.

Spoilers:

I would NOT take young children to see this movie. There is lot of 'cold blooded' violence in this. The hero is a spoiled egotistic party boy...very little to admire about him til the end when he finally starts to grow up. Scenes of parties, hedonism but there is nothing 'graphic'.

Some scenes went on for way to long. They could have used some good editing.

And I"m getting tired of how they script writers have to go out of their way to show that the 'buddies' are not gay by making them practically perverts. We get it. They are heterosexual males. They like girls. Don't overdo it.

The interplay between Brett and Cato was very funny though. I LIKED that the female lead knew how to say no! While Brett and Cato were both attracted to her in the end no one got the girl. Very refreshing to not have a love story cluttering things up.

So while I don't know if I will see it again I would not write it off either. When things were blowing up it was very funny.

I was really happy some years back when they brought back Sergeant Bilko. In the end there were just two plots and they were just rewritten.
On another ocassion I watched a rerun of The Lone Ranger. At least twice in that episode there were biblical references and they proved appropriate to the story. We certainly cannot allow that sort of stuff to modern day thinking. (Just a reminder that I am not a computer geek so I am in to old time thinking still.)

I've got a couple of Kovacs, on dvd.

My take on the show was I didn't like the premise, or Mulder.

My take on Dune ( not Herbert) was that I didn't like the book.

I didn't like BUFFY, either.

Did like FIREFLY.

I remember a cop show called San Francisco Beat. I have not seen it in over 50 years. But still remember the theme song with no words.

Sadly, I am beginning to think this was a one-time fluke. I have not seen any Green Hornets since that one day marathon.

Well, the show only ran for one season, or maybe it was two. Maybe that's not enough episodes to bring back an old show.

One season. 9 Sep 1966-14 July 1967. 26 shows, 3 of them two parters.

Not back in the day. TV was different, in the Ice Age.

Used to be a lot more than that actually....there are 39 episodes of The Honeymooners and that show only ran for one season....in the days before 'repeats' and 'summer hiatus' you get a new episode every single week, unless there was a preemption for a presidential address or a football game or something....there are 120 episodes of 'Batman' and it only ran for 3 seasons.....although granted it was on 2 nights a week for the first two seasons.
