Good point, Father.

She didn't actually say she was seeking information for herself, but she certainly implied it:

I know their web site is http://www.dhmna.org in the U.S. and http://www.dhmary.com in the UK... but has anyone actually met one of these sisters or know of one personally?

There does appear to have been some mental reservation going on.

Okay -let's assume sister has the best of intentions - to try to drum up interest - which is fine and all. Why not just come on out and say "Hey - I'm the vocations director for this group here, and come and check us out!" ?

I mean, is it really that bad that religious orders have to come to sites and do the "I'm discerning" routine to get interest?

Evidently it is. It's not a secret that orthodox orders often have waiting lists whereas those of the more heterdox type are dying off.

I seem to recall a passage that basically says if they are of man, they will fall apart under their own weight...and that is what we are seeing happen.

Nice.

For what it's worth, Paige3 - I wouldn't recommend a religious "order" that doesn't wear habits to anyone.

There's a reason that communities like yours are dying off and having a "vocations crisis" while orders like this one here are bursting at the seams.

Maybe you should go visit them and find out what their secret is instead of masquerading as someone you're not on message boards.

I agree Ann. Why would any woman not wear the habit to show the world she is a Bride of Christ??!?! My dd is planning to become a nun and she wouldn't even consider an order that does not wear the habit.
