Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary?

If so, what do you think of them?

Isn't that the group associated with Fr. Feeney?

Yes, someone out here was talking to me about them the other day. They have two branches. The one in Still River, MA is in communion with the Church, and the other one isn't. The one in Still River is very traditional--that's coming from the person I was talking to at the Institute of Christ the King.

Yes. The only branch that is not fully regularized now is the branch in NH, although their chaplain is a retired diocesan priest in good standing.

Oh, sorry, do they have more than two branches? Those are just the only two I heard about. I guess I didn't consider that they had others.

There are three branches in Still River - those that joined the Benedictines in 1974, the Sisters of St. Ann's House that were regularized in 1988, and the Sisters and Brothers under Br. Thomas Augustine that were regularized in 2002.

There is also a group of Sisters in Vienna, OH - I think they are a "private association of the faithful" or something like that.

The Brothers and Sisters in NH under Br. Andre Marie are not out of communion with the Church. They are not regularized, but they aren't under any censure and their chaplain is a retired priest in good standing.

I see. Thanks for the corrections.

I think a man I know said that there are two "Housetops" pamphlets printed by two different orders (maybe he meant branches). One is in communion with the Church and one isn't...And, since the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary print a "Housetops", that's why I ask the question...

Is this true?

Sorry if I am missing something here; I am trying to concentrate on what I am reading, but there's too much noise in this house.

There are also some Brothers out in California, and another monastery in Petersham, MA, that was founded by Fr. Cyril Karam, who had been one of Fr. Feeney's disciples (he wrote the article "Reply to a Liberal" that was one of the causes of the St. Benedict Center getting into hot water with Card. Cushing back in the day).

Yes, both the Slaves in Still River, MA and those in NH publish a periodical called "From the Housetops." However both are in communion with the Church - one is regularized and one is not.

I would rather live my life in the center of the Church than on the edges.

I don't see why the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary are living on the edges of the Church.
