VisionGuide.com is a great site. They have a catalogue, too, which my priest gave me, but it's really old so I tried to order a new one and they never answered.

I thought I saw the Fishers of Men videos done by the USCCB on here somewhere. I can't find it so I figured I would post it. Anyway these films move me to no end and make me want to enter a seminary somewhere tomorrow.

A good resources for those who wish to join an order but cannot due to debt, especially college debt, is the Mater Ecclesiae Fund for Vocations. This is a scholarship grant program that will pay down debt for those trying to discern and join religious orders and even the diocesan priesthood. Find out more here!

Hi, all.

I am a mother of four seeking wisdom on how to foster vocations in my children. I've started a website to share what I have learned so far. I hope parents will find it helpful.

Vocations -- A Guide for Catholic Parents
http://gocatholic.web.officelive.com/default.aspx

Every diocese has a vocations office, so God is calling LOUDLY, but are we listening? The vocations director at a local monastery wrote on their blog recently that it is common for parents to discourage vocations in their children.

Hopefully, my new site will help make it easier for parents who are curious about what religious life would mean for their children. I am not finished with the site by any means but please visit and see what I have so far.

Blessings to you all!

I was glad to run across this thread.

Joe and I will be attending an information night, it happens, on Wednesday. He has had this in mind, off and on, for quite a few years now, and it's a real grace that the requirements in the Diocese of Providence have recently changed.

Whether he is able, due to working out of state on his occasional business trips, to begin the discernment now or a few years from now, I know we would both love to find sites that have to do with the deaconate in the US.

Thank you, Bonaventure, for the link to Martin's site on how this began. I shall be creating a folder for anything y'all may be able to provide.
Blessings...
t

Visiting a Carthusian Monastery

It appears to be an Italian (or French?) television production... It's certainly not a beautiful piece like Into Great Silence, and the added English subtitles are pretty horrid as far as translation, but it is an interesting, half-decent look into Carthusian life.

In four parts:
