My latest blog post is: The California Missions - Where they are - and why.

I think you might enjoy this - and the others posts preceding it.

As always, comments and feedback are always welcome.

I've posted Parts III and IV of Father Serra's Life.

I've started sharing some of the important figures of early California, starting with Governor Portolá.

Today's post is about Governor Pedro Fages, the longest-serving but most difficult for the friars.

Part III of IV about Governor Rivera of California @ http://msgdaleday.blogspot.com

Enjoy. The more I research this remarkable man, the more impressed I become. I am now considering writing a novelette about his life and soldierly conduct. :salut:

And finally, Part IV about Governor Rivera @ Father Serra's Legacy

In re-researching this man, I've become quite impressed with who he was and what he accomplished in a remote place and difficult time. For that reason, I've started a novella, The Leatherjacket Soldier. Perhaps, when I finish it, someone would like to read and review it.

Thanks
