Who is your favorite NFL player? Mine is Walter Payton. He could rebound from almost anything. His records stood for years. He never whined. If he was gang tackled he throw the tacklers off and bounce back up. Ditka said of him, "When God made football he had Walter Payton in mind." I agree.

Who's your favorite?

Of course Unitas was a good Catholic.

I frequently went to the Roundhouse, a restaurant owned by Walter Payton. One day he was our busboy. On holidays he would come in to work so that another employee could have the holiday off. Good guy.

Our sons took us there on a Father's day. Even though Walter had died and the family was disconnecting itself from the restaurant much of the memorabilia was still intact. We was a wonderful day down memory lane.

Palamalu does it again last night. Strips QB of ball and sets up winning TD for the Steelers.

I think he's a lot of peoples' favorite around here. In addition to his contributions to football, from what I read he is a committed Christian of the Orthodox faith.
