My son has learned the Table Blessing in Latin. We always end our grace with a little prayer that I would love to teach him in Latin. The free online translation sites leave quite a bit to be desired with accuracy.

The prayer is this:

"Lord, give food to the hungry. For those who have food, let them hunger after You."


Pretty please... a translation in Latin?

Da alimenta, Domine, esurientibus habentesque alimenta esuriantur ad te.

Gratias tibi ago!

Semper ubi sub ubi.

Da nobis, quaesumus Domine, Panem angelorum atque panem hominum.

" senior , tribuo victus ut ieiunium. Illi quisnam have victus , permissum lemma ieiunium secundum You. "

It might be good, just for the sake of tradition, to add a quaesumus or similar word meaning ask or beseech. Not necessary though

What he gave you probably was from a bad online translator. hence "have" and "you" were not even translated (which is weird because they are easy words to translate) and all cases and conjugations were wrong, as well as word choice. I mean

Heck even Google translate does a far better job

The first sentence is grammatically correct, just not right number rise. Date means "Give" but is plural like "All of you give food to the hungry". Escam works, it means "meat, food". So. "Give ye meat to the hungry." The second is where it breaks. "Enim" means for in the sense of "because". He was a fat man, for he ate much food. Still it is worlds better than what this person gave you
