Got any good book ideas that would explain why it is needed, and stuff?

needed? hmmmmmm...because that was the way it was done... remember replacing judas in Acts?

Tertullian's Prescription Against the Heretics

I have two books that might help explain the apostolic succession:

(1) The Apostles, by Pope Benedict XVI - derived from the talks by the Pope in his general audiences. He did explain the apostolic succession.



(2) Jesus, Peter & The Keys - A Scriptural Handbook on the Papacy, by Scott Butler, Norman Dalhgren, Rev. Mr. David Hess, published by Queenship Press. Chapter V has the title Apostolic Succession and Infallibility.
