With some of the strange choices they've made, I wouldn't be sure about that if it weren't for the pictures on the website!

surely they wouldn't go for satisfaction.... as has appeared in the top 10 on other lists... we hear 'you can't always get what you want' more than any other stones song on our classic rock stations

If they decided they needed to look past You Shook Me All Night Long, they could at least have looked back to Whole Lotta Rosie. I mean, come on.

Are Blues Traveler classic rock? They oughta be if GNR is. Blues Traveler, with the Dude of Life, was the best show I ever saw. Circa Four, in a college gym.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v= (no rolls!)

Four was released in 1994, hence the name....

Stairway to Heaven is absolute dreck, literally ANYTHING else would be preferred, even one of their 'rip off' songs like Whole Lotta Love

I didn't think "all along the watch tower" was a hendrix song :S
I mean, I know he played it(or covered..?)

Good to see floyd right up there... and really "enter sandman"?.. it may be the most well known, but certainly not best...

Also, it was their fourth record. :fyi:

Their first record was released in maybe 1989 or so. I don't really remember. So they're not a lot later than GNR. Maybe two or three years.

Yep, it's a Hendrix song. Up until he played it, it was a Dylan song. But after Hendrix played it, it was definitely a Hendrix song. :fyi:

True, he turned a so-so song into something really memorable. Kind of like William Shatner and "Mr. Tambourine Man" (OK, I am joking about that one).

Is age the only thing that makes a band "classic rock"? Because by that standard, Soundgarden (1st album - 1988) and Nirvana (1st album - 1989) are "classic rock".

No, AC/DC does not belong in the top 4.

Soundgarden isn't classic anything. :fyi:

I'd consider Nirvana classic rock, I guess. Put another way, I wouldn't be surprised if I heard a Nirvana song played on a "classic rock" radio station. Which I wouldn't, since I don't listen to the radio.

Me too.

I will be a little surprised if U2 doesn't make the list anywhere.
